This morning I spent ten minutes on the phone to Detective Mazingi from the Fish Hoek police station who informed me that the (amazing set of) fingerprints taken off the broken window of the cottage matched one of the people they have on their database!
That was good news.
He was just waiting for more news from the fingerprint department so they can make a plan to go and find the guy.
Meantime, we have a new strategy for keeping tabs on the door-knockers. I take a photo and get their name.
We now have on our list Heindrich Bernard Britz and Allen Jeremy Saunders who happily handed me his ID and agreed for me to photograph it.
I think this guy is pretty harmless, but you never know.
The police do want to know the names of these people who knock at our door. What’s interesting is the biggest problem guy has not been seen since before the break-in, so I am imagining that he has something to do with it. He was creepy.
Morgan is very pleased to hear that the guy that broke in is on their data base. I gave her the case number and suggested she go to the police station and have a chat with Detective Mazingi who was very helpful. Her cell phone that was taken is not able to be used in South Africa, but is of great value in USA. It has not been turned on since it was stolen and she has the serial number so would like to get it back.
These things do not steal my joy, but they do steal my peace. I’m feeling more at peace now.
#399 of my 1000 thanks is for the progress the police are making.
I think Morgan will feel happier if there is an arrest. Even if she is not staying in the cottage, she will be happy that this guy is off the street.
This was the Proverb I read yesterday:
Proverbs 21:30
There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.
That’s what I believe.
I trust the Lord.
I’m so happy. Stacey and Adrian are coming for two nights.
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
