Wednesday
Dear Elsie
Today was the day we went to the beach for a swim. While there wasn’t too much wind, there was a bit of swell. The water clear, clean and warm. There was very little seaweed and kelp and no jellyfish. I really enjoyed my swim.
When we got home, we were met by a ‘gift’ from the cats. It resulted in me needing to do a bit of cleaning up. It was quite gross to be honest, so I’ll leave it there. It would be much better if they kept their gifts to themselves and didn’t bring them into the house!
But the main event of the day was the cricket. At the beach this morning, I brightly and boldly declared this day, 1st November 2023, was the day the Proteas beat New Zealand for the 2nd time in a week.
That result sent us to the top of the table.
Next up, we play India on Sunday. That’s going to be a cracker of a match. South Africa have never played in a World Cup ODI final. Perhaps this is our year.
I worked just over 6 hours. Julian arrived and tomorrow will be a busy day for both of us! Jessica sent me this photo of Elizabeth just about crawling.
Later today, she got it right and managed to carry herself a few knee steps across the floor!
After David’s relapse, he is slowly trying to regain his strength. He drove to Newlands Forest but only walked 100m. He did manage to get out this evening to go to a church meeting. He’s been on the anti-coagulants for nearly 6 months and we are beginning to unfortunately conclude, the treatment has not worked as expected. We are waiting for the next medication to see if adding that makes a difference.
Isaiah 33:2
Lord, be gracious to us; we long for you.
Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.
It’s not about now – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx 🙂
