The Great Rock Attack

Tuesday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day we set about attacking a massive rock out back. This rock has long been under discussion. It  needs to go, but we are not sure how.

Much internet research has been done. The guys took the big tough chisel and mallet bought for the purpose. Mike explained how it should be done. This is where the rock is from the balcony…

Mike left them reigning down massive blows, only to return a few hours later to see this…

Onto the next crevice…

And by the time they went home we had the rock about a third smaller!

That’s how you break a rock! Well done guys!

The day actually began with Mike and I going on a hunt for pawpaw. We walked to the shops and not finding any at PnP, we went to Woolworths which was closed, so it was onto Shoprite which had none. Freshstop were out and the Cafe on the Main rd was too. No pawpaw for me. After work, I took off for Harbour Bay and also found no pawpaw at Woolies or PnP so berries and  yoghurt for breakfast until they come back into stock again.

We had a good walk though, which included conquering the (150) Zoutendyk Steps. Shew!

And home along Daisy Lane…

It was a solid 4km walk.

Cats today – a 2-lizard day. Both survived. When releasing one of the lizards, I found a porcupine quill, so we have those spiky ones mooching around the mountainside.

The last day of October 2023.

Isaiah 32:17
The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
