The Joy of the Amaryllis

Thursday

Today was the day…

Our Amaryllis blossomed and flowered and looked beautiful. On the Sunday before last, we had gone to Cattle Baron at Harbour Bay and afterwards we stopped at Pick n Pay to pick up a couple of things. Mike spotted this Amaryllis and it just grabbed his attention so we bought it. It grew in leaps and bounds!

Every day it was growing inches.

And then the first flower came and then the second and the third. It is blossoming.

It has three flowers…

They are beautiful and bringing us joy!

This morning, it rained. The weather forecast for rain at 7am was spot on. The beach had to wait. I worked this morning and then at 2pm, I walked to the beach. Mike didn’t join me as he had work to do. The shark exclusion net was in place and I had a fine time swimming my 2km up and down to the barrel. Underwater visibility was pretty bad, and with a strong north wind pushing, it was easy to swim off course. It was hard swimming into the wind and easy swimming with it. I was home just after 3:30pm. I did a little more work and then we had an early dinner. I was starving!

This evening, I had a chat with David. I’d had an earlier chat with Stacey as well. David has arrived at his next destination and so his new life continues away from Fish Hoek. I think he’s loving it. No one knows him. Everything is new. Hopefully load-shedding won’t continue for too long!

John 15:13

Greater love has on one that this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
