Monday
Dear Elsie
Today is the day we came home again! But not before seeing you early in the morning before you went to school. In fact, we got to see your school and then we went out for breakfast with your Mom & Dad. We went to Grace & Merci.
We returned to the Berry Farm where we had stayed the night, packed, bought berries and then hit the road back to Cape Town. As usual we stopped at Caledon for cappuccino. Mike took over the driving. We picked up more truck traffic but managed to navigate it easily enough because between Caledon and Sir Lowry’s Pass there are a lot more double lanes and passing opportunities. We usually take Baden Powell but as soon as we got onto it, we saw police ahead and signs of trouble, so we turned around and went the N2. We got home just before 2pm. Courage was close at hand and came to help with our luggage, which is always helpful. We had a special passenger with us today! Teddy has new arms and legs and is home safe and sound.
He’ll hang out with his other friends before the big trip to St Helena in a couple of months time.
We spent an hour unpacking and organising our lives before I worked for a few hours. Dinner, then a walk and now the blog. It’s good to be home. This view never disappoints.
I’m ready for a good night’s sleep.
Psalm 44:1
We have heard it with our ears, O God; our ancestors have told us
what you did in their days, in days long ago.
God is faithful. The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx 🙂
