Saturday
Today was the day…
I did my tax – it took almost the entire day! I knew there would be more than usual because of the Airbnb and all the start up costs. Anyway, it’s done and it’s as accurate as possible. I’ve asked Stacey to cast her eye over it and estimate the damage.
Taxation station.
Mike and I went to the beach this morning. The wind was blowing. The swell was quite big but the breakers while frequent, were not dumpers. I did swallow a mouthful of sea water (ugh) but apart from that I got some swimming on the spot done and stayed in for more than 30 minutes. It was good exercise, for sure. Tomorrow the wind is expected to be less, so hopefully the sea will be a little calmer.
And that has pretty much been the day. It was punctuated by a visit from David. A week ago he was at a wedding and sat next to someone who was leaving to go to the UK. On Monday, this person had a pre-travel Covid test which came back positive. David had sat right next to her for more than an hour and because they were eating, he did not have his face mask on. While she had no symptoms, she does have Covid, so David has been self-isolating in his apartment for the last week. Today, he came and visited us keeping his distance to be sure. He has no symptoms and is fine. He comes out of quarantine officially on Wednesday.
There are things I wanted to do today but haven’t done. I was supposed to do some computer work for my company. Yesterday there were 130 emails, so by tomorrow there will be 260. Joy! Perhaps I’ll do some clearing this evening.
Right now, it’s dinner time.
Matthew 6:26
Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to Him than they are.
Words to remember.
The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
