Today I got to pay my tax! I woke up with a number of things to be grateful for – I have a job that I really enjoy. I love my duvet. I love my husband! Those are some of the things that went through my mind at 6am. I’m reading through Job. He really had it hard. It is difficult to fathom how hard it would be to suffer the horrific loss that he suffered and to still trust God, knowing that He is in control. While it must be really difficult to trust God in the hard times, I need to continue to be thankful and trust God for the daily good times. I love my job. I love my duvet. I love my husband. You won’t win a prize to guess which one of those three is most important! But one day, I may not have all these things. Mike is more than 13 years older than me. It is possible that he will get to go to heaven before me. Then I won’t have him. I may not have a job either. I will be left with my duvet, but far more important, I will be left with my faith. That’s when I will have to dig deep and trust God regardless. He is in control. I am on a journey through this life and one day I too will take that step and get to go to heaven. What a wonderful day that will be. Death doesn’t sound fun, but the outcome for Christ-followers is the best.
Two things guaranteed in this life. Death and taxes.
#402 of my 1000 thanks is today I paid my provisional tax. And Mike finished his tax as well.
We are feeling on top of things.
Mark 12:17
Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”
Today I also worked for nine hours.
There is plenty more work to do, but I will get stuck in again tomorrow morning.
Check the darn starlings standing guard over the seed ball…with lots more hovering in wait…
They haven’t figured out that they can fly into the cage from below. They have figured that if they shove their heads through the cage, they can grab a mouthful! The Cape white-eyes have no difficulty zipping in and out.
Stacey and Adrian left this morning after two nights with us. It was soooo great to see them. Stacey helped with some sewing and she was able to take a whole stack of stuff back to Swellendam with her….Granny’s sewing box and mine…fabric, books, clothes…it was wonderful to see it all leaving the house! And I found a home for David’s high school blazer! So today was a good day for seeing stuff leave!
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
