Today, we woke up, packed an overnight bag and spent the day and this evening with Adrian, Stacey and little Elsie. It’s been a treat!
Swellendam sunset.
Mike played some golf. I baby sat while Adrian and Stacey went for a walk. It’s been a great day.
I have to tell you of Elsie’s first injury. It happened the last time we visited which was three weeks ago. She needed her fingernails cut, so I set about cutting them. After great success on this delicate task, I took her feet out and went to trim her toenails. After carefully feeling the nail and then clipping it, she pulled her toe away. She didn’t cry, but the next thing I knew there was a drop of blood!
Tiny drops of blood trickled out. I couldn’t see what I had done – it wouldn’t stop bleeding. Elsie didn’t cry, but the toe did! I was horrified! Eventually, Adrian came, had a look and got a plaster. He cut it down to baby toe size and put it on. I wish I had taken a photo of that tiny toe enveloped in a plaster. It’s all fine now but I don’t know how quick I will be to offer to trim baby nails again!
#716 of my 1000 thanks – it took us 2 hours and 40 minutes to drive to Swellendam today. I am so grateful that we got here safely. A car overtook a tanker as we were approaching – I had to drive onto the side of the road to avoid a head on collision.
Matthew 11:28-29
Come to Me, all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you…and you will find rest for your souls.
Tomorrow we go home – we couldn’t get Truffles into a cattery, our tenant is away and David goes away tomorrow as well, so we need to get home to take care of our cat! Next time we will come for longer.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
