Sunday
Dear Elsie
Today was the day we had a very good rest. Most of South Africa woke up still reveling in the fact that, last night, South African Springboks snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. We were losing to England for about 80% of the semi final rugby match. Then, right at the death, we managed to clinch it and won by 1 point 16-15, so through to the finals of the 2023 Rugby World Cup we go. We play the All Blacks on Saturday next week. Earlier in the day, we had pretty much crushed England in a World Cricket Cup ODI, so it was all in all, a bad day for English sport. The internet was full of it.
The wind dropped overnight and then dropped even more during the day, leaving a splendid day. The navy ship did the rounds…
I spotted a couple of dolphins and I think I heard the shark alarm go off at Muizenberg. It wasn’t loud enough for Fish Hoek, so it may have been round one of the other bays. Summer vibes.
This afternoon, our new guest arrived for the next 6 nights. Lovely day to fly into Cape Town. And, Gerrie arrived to help Julian with his book consignment that is arranged for tomorrow.
A restful day.
Isaiah 26:7
The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth.
Even when it doesn’t feel smooth, God is at work. His silence does not mean He is absent.
It’s not about now – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx 🙂
