Stormy Stormy Monday

Monday

Today was the day…

That it rained and blew almost all day.  The storm last night resulted in very strong winds, which to be honest, I thought would have ended by this morning, but they continued for most of the day. Add to that periodic downpours and it was a stormy stormy Monday. A good day to stay home and try to keep warm. I even dug out a little fan heater and that made all the difference in my office. It kept my feet warm. Pictures appeared on social media, including this one of the storm surge between Green Point and Sea Point…

Jean Trefson, a local photographer was down there catching some of the real fun…the sea surging in…

And the effect it had on traffic…

60m from the sea…

This trio went prepared.  Wet suits, go-pros and lots of fun in the foam…

Just up the road, 54 years ago on 1st July 1966 the SA Seafarer ran aground in another winter storm.   This photograph was taken by one of Cape Town’s foremost Maritime Photographers at the time Mr Robert Pabst. Quite a sight.

Cape of Storms living up to its name.

Today was the day I contacted one of my teachers for an interview only to find him in hospital with Covid-19. Quite a shock for a 28 year old to need hospitalisation. He was young and fit and found himself needing to be admitted due to how bad he got. He is now on the mend and hopes to be out of hospital soon. He won’t be interviewing any time soon.

James 1:12

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Keep going. Persevere. Be that person.

The best is yet to come.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
