Special Windows

Tuesday

Today was the day…

I had a pretty quiet morning. I did a bit of work which was satisfying. My teacher who has Covid-19 is on the mend and should be discharged soon.

Mike came home at lunchtime and Julian shortly after. He came for a coffee before David arrived to take him to the airport. Julian comes down from Johannesburg on business – he buys books and he stores them at our house, so he can pretty legitimately come and go within the rules of the Level 3 Lock Down.

After wrapping up work this afternoon, I beetled off to Echo for two main reasons.

We had to measure the bath and decide where exactly the window was going to go in front of it. This unassuming space is where the bath will go with a picture window in front of it.

The second thing we needed to sort out is the middle space for one of the stained glass windows. We have three old windows that will go  at the top of the stairs. There is space for the two big ones but the smaller one has to have its space cut out. Mike and Werner had a discussion about where and how. One day in the future I hope to take another photo from this spot viewing the photos in situ…I hope they look okay. Somehow I think the middle one may not look so good in the middle. Maybe we should find another spot for it. We will have to give some thought to it as it could be the little one with spoil the effect of the other two.

The top floor is getting its clapper board…

The storm has passed. The rain has stopped and the forecast suggest sunshine for the rest of this week and all next week. Next rain is expected on Saturday 25th. Good news for builders!

Today I chewed on some soft food. It was the first time in 4 weeks and it felt good. I need to do some research to find out if 4 weeks is too early. I’m still on food that’s pretty sloppy but I had some pasta that I blended gently, so it was very soft and I put it between my teeth to see how it felt. No problem.

Romans 15:4

Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

Have hope.

The best is yet to come.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
