Some Days Are Perfect

Saturday

Today was the day…

…that was perfect. A couple of days of the year are perfect for swimming in the sea and today was one of them. Mike and I went down for our dip. The sea was as flat as I’ve ever seen it. It was calm and warm. Mike went off for a jog, while I went straight into the water. I swam up to the cat walk and then turned around and swam down to the little lighthouse and back. There were hardly any waves and swimming was so easy. I’d remembered to take my goggles which made it easier. Altogether I was in the water for about 30 minutes. It was just so lovely.

At just before 8am, we wandered home and had breakfast. During the morning, I did two things. I had a nice long phone call with Stacey and I did my taxes.  Then I put on my backpack and walked to Fish Hoek to get dinner for this evening. I avoided the cat walk, choosing Simon’s Town road to avoid the crowds. There were crowds…

But this is why…just look at the water…

Relaxing afternoon and easy to make dinner rounded off a beautiful day. After dinner, Julian and I strolled to the end of the beach and back. Even though it was evening, there were still loads of people enjoying the calm weather and warm ocean.

There are not many days that are as perfect as this one and we lapped it up. It was a day of our dreams!

Psalm 136:2

Give thanks to the God of gods, His love endures forever.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
