We Woke Up To Rain

Sunday

Today was the day…

We woke up to rain. For me it was unexpected. Yesterday I had noticed that a north wind was blowing and looked on my weather app to see if rain was forecast but it clearly hadn’t updated, so I didn’t think it would rain. It wasn’t heavy, but just enough to wet the ground and make my plants very happy. There may be a little more this evening, but none is forecast for tomorrow.

We decided not to do any serious exercise today so we waited til about mid-morning and then walked to the end of the beach, went to the grocery store for some shopping and came home. A very restful day was had by all. In fact this afternoon I slept.

The holiday homes around us are occupied at the moment resulting in a bit more of a neighbourhood buzz. Conversations and music drift across and there is more activity of people coming and going.  I’m not sure what’s happening next door because a maintenance vehicle with a ladder on top has arrived and is parked in the garage. A couple of chaps have been there. There has been music coming from the house but no work-like noise. Maybe there will be some tomorrow. A youngster arrived during the afternoon and walked up the drive way. I heard him call to the guy on the balcony and say he was the owner’s son. I didn’t hear any more. We’ll see if some work begins tomorrow.

It’s a calm evening and I’ve just noticed we’ve had a little more rain. There is a fishing boat in the bay that now seems to be making its way back to Kalk Bay Habour.

A short while ago, a resident up the road asked (on whatsapp) for the security company to please visit to check out her house. She thought she had heard some suspicious activity. The security guard on duty went round there, but all was well. Noise carries and it’s easy to be concerned. It is useful having the security company patrol car 24 hours a day on the mountainside, although they do have quite a big area to cover.

Time for me to wrap up the day.

Deuteronomy 5:10

I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations to those who love Me and obey My commands.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
