Slow November

I didn’t see this coming.  We went away on holiday and we didn’t think beyond our return date which was 30th October. I didn’t think for a moment what the 31st would be like. I did think I would hit the road running and that work would be busy, but the opposite has happened. The school interviews I was going to is on hold and so the recruitment process is in the slow lane. I work for a few hours a day and the rest is free!

My cold is better this evening. This morning I had a med-lemon and then went to gym. I walked for 30 minutes, cycled for 30 minutes and did some of the exercises. Some of the treadmills look down over the pool. This morning when I was there, there was an aqua aerobics class going on. I learned that if you don’t have a swimming cap to wear, it is okay to wear a shower cap! There were a number of ladies doing the aqua aerobics in shower caps. I think it is practical. I can imagine the swimming caps are pretty tight and could be uncomfortable. It was fun to watch!  Who knows, maybe one day, I’ll give it a go. I’ll have to go find a swimming cap because I sure am not going to wear a showering one!

I went right after gym and did some shopping and then went home and had a nap. That was great! It was very short.

This afternoon, after doing some more computer work, I went outside and cleaned up the patio which had gathered a lot of dust and leaves with the hectic wind we have been having. Fortunately, there is less wind now and hopefully I won’t be back to square one tomorrow.

#471 of my 1000 thanks is that I didn’t have to cook today! We went out for dinner!

Psalm 107:1

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever.

God’s love endures forever. Regardless of what we go through, He sustains us and loves us through it all. With some people, I don’t know how they go on. There is a friend of mine on Facebook who I have never met in person. Her name is Henriette. She had a son and a daughter.  Craig and Chantelle. Chantelle contracted a disease and died. Five months later Craig was killed in a car accident.

I don’t know how you cope with that. Sometimes I see semblance of normal life in her comments on Facebook, but there are days where the pain and the loss become all too much. She keeps on putting one foot in front of another and with God’s grace she and her husband get by. She is a testimony to God’s strength and His love to keep her going. This is the kind of picture she posts…

If you are going through a hard time, hang in there and put one foot in front of the other.

One day at a time.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
