Today was the day…
I felt a little less work stress. I worked more than 8 hours but there was a work comment that helped. During a meeting I mentioned that we were falling behind in our daily target to which one of the managers answered that we had only got the contract yesterday so need some time to get it going. That was helpful.
Also Ruth came and cleaned the cottage ahead of tomorrow’s guests arriving. What makes them different is it’s the first time we’ll have two people downstairs and two people in the loft. The loft is finally renovated. What was funny was I went down to the cottage to make up the bed. Ruth and I were just chatting about the guests and I said I’d show her a photo of the lady who was coming. She looked at the photo and said, “I know her – she’s a celebrity!” She was so impressed. She started talking about how clean she was going to get the cottage because now she was cleaning for a celebrity! We don’t have a TV in the cottage which is good for the celebrity, but as kids are coming, I set up a ‘play station’ of a different kind.
This morning, we swam. The water was colder than yesterday but is always so refreshing. Julian found me a book I want to read. I’ve started – now I need to finish! I have a pile of books that are half read. Maybe I’ll finish this one before the end of the year.
I’m feeling so much happier and less stressed than yesterday.
