Saturday at the Site

Saturday

With the Corona virus dominating news and life, staying in has become more important than ever. But with our building going up and no workers there today, it was a good day to go and get some measurements on the top floor. This was my work view…

We did a fair bit of measuring before heading down and having tea with David. When we left we went to Harbour Bay to do a shop. Mike stayed in the car while I stocked up. We got home around 3pm.

We are not sure what will happen next in regard to an SA lock-down. Mike is determined to get the electrics done, but if there is a lock-down and everyone is told to stay at home, it will certainly delay the build.

Cape Town has 74 confirmed cases of Covid-19 out of 240 in the country.

On a different topic, I’ve noticed recently that our hot water has not been quite as hot as usual. It’s been luke warm, but not hot. Then this morning, there was no hot water, end of story. While I was in the shower I told Mike there was no hot water but kept showering. I didn’t hear his response, so I started giving him a running commentary of how cold the water was. Definitely wasn’t warming up. But Mike didn’t respond.  I soon found I was talking to myself. He had left the room. A short while later, he came bounding up the stairs. “When we last went to Swellendam”, he said, “I turned the hot water cylinder off so we’ve been showering using only solar heated water ever since”. The sun had been heating the water since the 25th January. Finally, after a couple of overcast days, it ran cold!

It’s been a good day.

1 Corinthians 14:33

God is not a God of confusion but of peace.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.
