First Views From The Top Floor

Friday

I have not gone out today. Courage came at 8:30am and he and Mike went off to Echo to get stuck into more electrics work. With the final concrete only coming on (hopefully) Thursday, it means Mike has plenty of time to get on top of all the electrics. They came home for lunch and then returned. Mike has just come back to pick up some wiring. He is in his element, sparkling with enthusiasm and enjoyment – doing the electrics really lighting up his life! 💡🔌 It is made a whole lot easier with the help of Courage. Now we take the weekend off and gear up for next week.

Later, I will go back down to the site and clamber up to the top floor again. It’s the weirdest thing that this floor gets polystyrene blocks. Because the top floor is light steel frame, it doesn’t need to have the concrete blocks. Yesterday evening, Mike and I went to the site and found scaffold to climb up onto the top floor. This will be Julian’s floor. He gets less space but higher up and it’s quite a view. I took a photo looking to each side…this is looking towards Simon’s Town…

Towards False Bay and Strand in the distance…

Towards Kalk Bay and Muizenberg…

And towards Fish Hoek…

We, all three, are a bit overwhelmed at the possibility that we will live in a house with a view like this. I regularly say, ‘I can’t believe we are doing this.’

Despite Covid-19 shaking the country, the build goes on. I have been staying home and apart from work (which was super quiet today), I did some cleaning. I moved the fridge and cleaned behind it. As soon as this is done, I’m going to give my bathroom a good scrub. Hopefully, if I work quickly, I’ll get that done before Mike gets home. It’s a case of on your marks, get set…go!

James 3:18

Those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
