Rugby World Cup Final 2023

Saturday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day we woke early, went for a lovely walk with you, had flapjacks for breakfast and by 8am, we said goodbye and headed home. We had such a lovely time and will be back. Thank you for having us and for all the voice notes!

The drive home was easy with far less traffic than going. We got home in three hours and jumped into unpacking and getting ready for the weekend. Ruth was here cleaning the Seaview Apartment so that’s ready for the next guests, who, unless anything changes, only arrive on Thursday.

Most of South Africa is gearing up for the Rugby World Cup final which is on at 9pm tonight.

I think I will get some shut eye in so I can see the whole game…maybe. I feel I should.

Meanwhile, David had a couple of visitors today. I got a photo of 3 men and a baby. Just for clarity, the baby belongs to Mike A who is in the middle. Mike D is holding little Maya for ‘practice’ as his newborn son is due in December.

Straight after I took the photo, I went for a walk down Highway, up & then down Hillside to Ravine steps. As if 85 steps is not enough…

Over Highway to the rest of Ravine steps…in the bag…almost…

Then along the road to a few more rugged steps…

Then it’s a short mountain path – believe me after the puff adder visit the other day, I walked with my eyes wide open…

It comes out at the top of Contour Rd which has sweeping views…

And an 8-bed house that was on the market for R18m…although the For Sale sign has been taken down.

That was a good walk on a windy day.

And now the 3 hour count-down begins.

CNN reported on Siya Kolisi’s comments prior to tonight’s match.

Isaiah 29:16
Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, “You did not make me”? Can the pot say to the potter, “You know nothing”?

One thing we know about Siya Kolisi is he trusts the Lord. He knows who made him and he is accountable to Him, even in a rugby match. Win or lose, life goes on.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
