Grandparent’s Day – A Blog by Elsie and Granny

Friday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day we went to your school’s Grandparent’s Day! How fun was that? We had a good time.  There were beautifully laid tables…

Lots of grandparents…

Plus of course, plenty of  yummy treats…

This is also the first time that you are watching me writing this blog. You have asked why I put … at the end of yummy treats! I said to show you something else was coming. Today you painted a wooden house which was made into a keyring, which you gave to Oupa, who loved it.

We had lots of photos taken with you. You also asked why I do not show your face. I explained it’s because we need to wait for you to be big enough to decide for yourself where your face is shown. Another question you asked was ‘why do you write so many things?’ To this I answered it’s because one day you won’t only be 5, you’ll grow up and then you’ll have an account of all the things that Granny and Grandpa did.

What I did learn today is you are very smart and good at counting. We are now home and you have been playing with your Duplo…

The Duplo is an endless source of entertainment with a bath, beds, cars, kitchen & stairs going up to a dog ‘tree-top’ house (Elsie’s definition). There is loads of imagination going on with stories being told, as there is a swing and a slide and a rocking horse and a playground.  There’s a teacher and class and actually 2 naughty boys. (Elsie’s dictation). You have also just said that you Elsie, can spell all of your family’s names (and why don’t I write that down on my computer!), so there it is!

It’s been delightful being here for sure!

Isaiah 28:29
All this also comes from the Lord Almighty, whose plan is wonderful, whose wisdom is magnificent.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
