Rough Seas

Tuesday

Dear Elsie

This morning when we woke up the wind was still blowing gales, but it was forecast to improve as the day progressed. I took one look at Fish Hoek beach and decided I wouldn’t be swimming in the sea today. We did go to the shops though. I felt like bacon and egg for breakfast, so we walked down and bought what we needed. Walking on the cat walk, we got a good idea of sea conditions. There was a lot of swell and the waves were big; the backwash looked strong and the undercurrents menacing. It would be a day to play in the surf, but not to swim in the deep.

Eggs and bacon were cooked on our return. It certainly is rocket fuel and apart from two peaches, it took me through to dinner time.

Today was a monster working day. I worked 11 hours which lasted beyond supper and into the evening, but I conquered most of the to-do list. There will be more tomorrow. This is the nature of doing two people’s work.

It’s good to be in bed and ready to have a bit of downtime.

Psalm 66:20
Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me!

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
