Road Trip in my own City

After Mike and I visited Milnerton Golf Course on his birthday and I saw how lovely it was, I immediately thought of taking Julian there on his next visit…not to play golf, of course, but to have breakfast at the restaurant.  Driving from Fish Hoek to Milnerton is not so bad. Julian had never been on Milnerton Beach before so the iconic view of Table Mountain was a real treat.

After breakfast we carried on going, through to Tableview, Blouberg and finally Melkbosstrand. That was quite a road trip in my own city. I love doing this. Going to the far reaches of the city where I live and seeing it from a different angle. Marvelling at how much it has grown and seeing all the activities taking place in a different neck of Cape Town’s woods.

It took us more than an hour to get home, but it was a very enjoyable morning. 🙂

This afternoon I had a nap and then did a couple of hours work before going out for dinner with Julian, Mike and David. Saveur in Simon’s Town was our destination. We walked around the town for half an hour or so before dinner.  The food was good, the venue at Saveur is lovely and the company of course was great!

We came home after dinner and watched a classic based-on-a-true-story movie, Eddie the Eagle. It was quite fun.  It’s weekends like this that I miss Stacey and Adrian who live a few hours away and don’t get the regular chance to hang out with us. I think it’s time we scheduled a proper road trip to see them. 🙂

#121 of my 1000 thanks surely has to be for what has been a lovely day! 🙂

1 Timothy 1:12

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that He considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
