Rise and Shine Pics…

4-36pm

On Friday 2nd March, at the Rise and Shine Open Day, one of the in-studio guests was Elton Willenburgh who is an amateur (on-the-way-to-professional) photographer. He took a whole stack of photos which can be viewed at his website…

He gave me permission to put them on my blog. I’ve only put up a few here – but there are lots more at his website. Go and have a look!

That’s my car…

Good morning!…

The dictionary that Richard gave us with my car keys…

And finally, Elton, himself with me…

Today Robyn came into the show with me. She is bubbly and vivacious and will soon get into the swing of Rise and Shine and let her natural chatty personality come out on air. It’s all a bit overwhelming when you first arrive. After the show, I stayed at the office until 1pm and got quite a bit of work done! 🙂

Getting home a bit later than usual has set me back a bit. In the afternoons, I usually have three things to do…finish show prep, make dinner and do the blog. Today the list is slightly longer. It’s all the above, plus wash Granny’s hair and give her feet a spa treatment and then at 6pm, go running with Stacey. After that, I need to go to the library! So, of the list, here’s what done…dinner is cooked. The show prep is almost done.  This is the blog. I’ve washed Granny’s hair and did the foot spa, only got a bit carried away with the soap, don’t you think…

LOL. Just as well it wasn’t on her head! Monty wasn’t so sure about all this…couldn’t figure out what it was or if it was going to jump up and bite him! 🙂

I’ll post this now and then finish show prep.

As I get older, I realise that my position in life is changing. The next generation is getting more capable. I have the blessing of maturity and experience. I’m happier with myself and value time more today than ever before.  As I briefly pondered this, it came to my mind that there is place for all of us. Whatever age or stage of life, God can use us wherever and whenever. Sometimes we know about it. Other times He uses us without us even knowing….like Granny, who inspires me to be more patient, to appreciate each conversation I have, each kilometre I  walk, each job I do; she inspires me to not complain, not to criticise and to be more appreciative. She doesn’t even know the inspiration she is. Sometimes I believe that my life is as content as it is because of Granny and the time we have invested in caring for her.  God rewards compassion and sacrifice.  The Lord specialises in healing the hurt, encouraging the downcast, carrying burdens and giving inner peace in a tumultuous world.  He never leaves us, always is there to help us, impresses on us His grace and mercy and loves us unconditionally. His love is never-ending and He loves us even when we don’t love Him back. That’s the God I serve!

Psalm 36:5 “Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.”

God blessss you loads!

In His ever-loving Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
