So today Mike and I trundled off to Peninsula Eye Hospital for round two. We were there before 8am.
This time a tiny injection into his eye. Sounds dreadful. He said it wasn’t bad. All he felt was a tiny sting.
We came home and I went to gym. When I got back, I got onto my computer and found the plumber’s bill. He spent about 3 hours at our house and charged us R1880. This means that we have spent close to R2700 looking for a leak that isn’t there. The city water department was due to arrive today to change the meter but they didn’t come. I have to admit, we felt ripped off by this plumber. The leak detection company spent a lot more time (4 or more hours) and only charged R800. We felt taken advantage of. I have made a note on the invoice to never use this particular plumber again.
We put the pain behind us and at 1pm arrived at the mountain side house for a meeting with a builder from Cobute. He was excellent in his advice, although I have to confess that he wasn’t very encouraging. The next step is to have the land surveyed and get a geotech engineer who specialize in checking out the soil type to see how deep the foundations have to go. That will happen in the new year. To get what we want, building is the only option, but the access to the land and the complexity of the slope are not going to make it a simple operation. Mike and I have watched enough Grand Designs to know that it’s going to cost more than we think, take longer than we imagine and be stressful! One step at a time.
#500 of my 1000 thanks (half way there!) – a biggie – tonight Mike says his vision is slightly better in his left eye. The injection is working!
The hottest day of summer so far comes to an end.
Psalm 126:3
The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
