Prickly Kelp

Thursday

Today was the day…

I discovered prickly kelp.  Most of the time when I’m swimming through the kelp it’s smooth and flat, but today as I swam, I found myself brushing against some prickly kelp. It had me googling it and sure enough, it exists…I found this on research gate.

The spiny-bladed leaves dragged on my leg and I felt it alright. Didn’t do any harm but I guess it’s like walking in the bush – you have to watch out for prickly plants.  I had swum further than previously and am edging towards the Sunny Cove bridge – one day!

The main issue with going further is that  Mike’s run is a certain length of time and he finishes while I’m still quite far out. This morning he was in the water at the end of his run and wondering where I was before he finally saw my yellow cap in the distance!  I just love swimming in the sea. How addictive this is.

The morning was calm and still. The SA Navy submarine made an appearance. It’s right in the middle of this photo…

Today I only worked for 8 hours. Mike and I managed an evening walk and I have just wrapped up some final work. Tomorrow is less busy and so I hope to finish early and enjoy most of the afternoon off. That will be nice! Also rain is forecast for tomorrow, so I don’t think we will be rushing off to the beach.

Over the last couple of days there have been dolphins in the bay. Today I saw a couple of divers swimming quite far out and then heading back to the beach. I think they must have been the same ones that took this incredible footage of dolphins swimming under water. Truly, this is something special.

Psalm 147:1

Praise the Lord! How good to sing praises to our God! How delightful and how fitting!

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
