Friday
Today was the day…
Plastering got done on the brick part of the back of the house. This is something we have been waiting for. As soon as it’s finished and dried, it needs to be painted.
Meanwhile, inside, on Julian’s floor painting is happening. The wall has had a primer and the ceiling has had both coats which means Mike can go along and finish the down-lights. Our floor will be painted as soon as Julian’s floor is done. Werner will start tiling that floor next week. Our windows are getting their architraves which look great and really turn them into picture windows…
The big event this weekend is the two trucks of stones that will be carried off the steps. Plenty of rocks to be taken.
Mike and I had a good meeting with Werner, showing him the layout of the cupboards and the bathrooms. He is pretty certain with all that needs to be done, he will be finished towards the end of September. The things that come to mind that still need to be done…
- Tiling needs to be done in all bathrooms, the stairs, Julian’s whole floor and all balconies.
- Balustrades need to be done on all balconies, the stairway and landings.
- All the cupboarding has to be done.
- Mike has to make the kitchen for our floor, the kitchenette for Julian and the sink units for the bathrooms!
- All the solar has to be done.
- All the painting inside has to be finished.
- All the skirting and all the cornices.
- All the internal doors have to be fitted.
- Plumbing has got to be finished and sanitary-ware installed.
- Water tanks have to be installed.
- Electrics have to be tied up.
And that is just what I can see. Imagine all the things I can’t see! It will be finished when it’s finished. Werner says we are on budget for which we are grateful.
Time is going to fly by and before we know it, we will be moving in. That is hard to believe. Exciting times.

There is lots to be said about wisdom in Proverbs:
Proverbs 2:10-11
Wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy. Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe.
The best is yet to come.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
