Completely Locked Out!

Thursday

Today was the day…

We got completely locked out of our house. Three years ago when we upgraded our security we added latches inside our garage doors. When they are latched, if someone tries to break the garage door lock from the outside, they still can’t get in because of these latches. Today the one garage was latched and we left through the other. We were in the car and about to drive away when I suddenly remembered we didn’t have some tiles we had to take back to the tile store. Mike went inside to get the tiles. He had to take the keys to open the garage door. Went inside, put the keys down, picked up the required tiles, exited the house, closed the garage, put the tiles in the boot, got in the car – no keys!

We were completely locked out. I phoned Julian who came with the keys for the latched garage door. I was so impressed with Mike. After some fiddling, he did an absolute “McGyver” – I really thought we were going to need to call a locksmith.

We went to the tile stores in Paarden Eiland again and finalised the purchase of almost all the tiles for the bathrooms. I’m really happy with our choices and once the bathrooms are done, I’ll post some pictures. Riana came by the other day and snapped this photo of me on my balcony…

The house is soooo inaccessible at the moment. That should change this weekend when a lot of the excess rocks are taken off site.

We got home mid afternoon and I got stuck into work.  This evening, we had a really enjoyable family dinner out.

The other thing that happened today is that my tax got finalised.

Anne remains in ICU. It’s a grueling few days after such a big operation. Hopefully, she will get over the worst and start going from strength to strength.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

The best is yet to come.
