Only In Africa…

2-56pm

Oooh, is that the time already! Time to get the blog written and posted before my self-imposed 4pm deadline. Remember this picture from yesterday? It was an accident on Sunday…

Car in the wallWell the blue “bakkie” ended up on the road side and today Riana and I happened to pass by while it was loaded onto a ‘tow truck’. Riana drove around the block so I could get the photos. We laughed to see the ‘tow truck’ driver’s method of loading the car onto the back of his vehicle, was to lie on his back in the street and with all of his might push it into place…

Only in AfricaIt was about 10cm from the road ….it was to be quite a trip… Who needs a tow truck anywayThere were several attendants trying to make it secure…

Tying the canopy onAnd off they go…

On it's wayI think in taking the wrecked car away, they were doing an equal amount of damage to the one carrying it! They had to drive about 3km. They said they were taking it to Masiphumulele!

Today, niece Jess and her boyfriend Gerrie got up early and came with me to CCFm, so they could take the car for the day. I went prepared to walk the 9km home. As it turned out, Riana and Heidi kindly changed their walking plans and walked to Muizenberg to meet me and together we all walked back to Kalk Bay. Went to Olympia’s  takeaway section and had an absolute delicious cappuccino. View from our bench.

View from our benchRight next to the bench is a cute little box…

At the book hoekWhich you can OPEN, READ & RETURN…

Open me read meGreat idea!

Talking of reading, this morning I read Psalm 18. There are going to be times in life where you feel you cannot go on! Something has to change! Everything seems to be such a struggle. Maybe there is sickness in your family & you don’t know how to cope. Perhaps it’s late in the month and you’ve run out of money. There are wonderful verses from Psalm 18 to encourage you. Vs. 1 “He reached down from on high & took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters.” Verse 28 “You O Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.” Vs 29 “With God we can advance against a troop & scale a wall…” Vs 32 “He arms me with strength & makes my way perfect.” Whatever is going on in your life, relax in the knowledge that God has got you in His sight. He will draw you out of deep waters. He will turn your darkness into light. He will strengthen you; He will help you overcome obstacles and He will make your way perfect. Go on knowing He is your strength.

God bless you!

You are in His grip.
