An Accident

11-32am

Yesterday afternoon I toddled off with Mike to the golf course for him to play another 9 holes. I am a very amateur caddy! But it’s just such fun, especially now that he is getting better. My job, apart from carrying the bag (eventually we’ll get a trolley), is to stand behind him and watch where the ball goes. At the 11th hole, he let rip, with the wind behind him, using his driver. He connected it right in the middle and it soared into the sky. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. A SEAGULL was right in the path of this round missile. I thought it was going to hit the bird full on, but at the last minute, the bird moved slightly to the right and the ball missed its wing by millimetres. I just wished it was videoed. What a sight! The wind played havoc yesterday & driving & chipping into it was very difficult. As a result, his score card wasn’t quite as rosy as the week before. None the less, he did par two holes which was quite an achievement considering the conditions. After nearly hitting a bird, this was for birdie…

I’m looking forward to the next round. On our way home, we encountered an accident just below the Main Rd, on Hospital Rd. What happened, I don’t know, but this bakkie climbed the kerb and smashed into the wall…

Car in the wallThis was the other car involved…

The other victimThere were loads of emergency vehicles around, but we didn’t see any injuries. I think one of them didn’t stop at the stop street.

Today my niece Jess arrives, along with her boyfriend Gerrie. Stacey has gone to the airport to pick them up, because I’m heading on out to gym.

I have always been fascinated by the story of Joseph…how he was sold into slavery, elevated in the house of Potiphar, humiliated & unfairly jailed. He was desperate to get out of jail “Get me out of this prison.” (Genesis 40:14). Two years pass from the time he says this to the time that things change. Finally, he is called before Pharaoh to interpret a dream. Surely his faith in God would have waned. There was no Bible to hang onto. He was trusting God,”cold turkey”! Pharaoh says he has heard Joseph can interpret dreams. Joseph answers, “I cannot do it, but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.” (Genesis 41:16). This week as you get on with the tough parts of the life you lead, remember YOU cannot do it wisely, securely, confidently, without God. He is by your side as your Guide, Confidant, Adviser and Friend. Keep your hand in His and He will direct your path.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gratitude/Happiness Pic… when I arrived home today, as I got out my car, piano music filtered out the house…I crept inside and peaked… Stacey was sitting at the piano, playing and singing. What a lovely reception…
