Oh Honey!

Saturday

Today was the day….

We went to Oh Honey! It’s a little coffee shop on the Main Rd, Fish Hoek, just a few doors down from Wakefords on the circle side.  The owner, a friendly young man opened the cafe in January, then Covid and lock-down came, so now he is pleased to be in business again. He has light meals and of course, HONEY. This is Oh Honey’s honey.

The display table…

Price list…

And view from the window…

The coffee was great and we will definitely be back. The other place that has reopened after a time of closure is Chalk and Cheese which is just a few doors along. They also serve coffee, cake and toasted sandwiches. The owners live on Echo Rd and somehow know we are building there so when we stopped by, the owner (I must get her name) commented on the house.  All these places need support. When we move in, we will walk down and support local industry.

After breakfast at Oh Honey, Mike and I tootled off to do a morning’s worth of shopping. First we went to Eagle Electrical in Lakeside where we bought outdoor lamps and some special down lights.

Further down the road we stopped at Retreat Electric and then headed to Gelmar. To get there we turned at the Spotty Dog. This Spotty Dog is a landmark in the area. People refer to it when explaining where various shops are. I was amused today to see the updated Spotty Dog…

Gelmar is the place of door handles, screws, gloves, hinges and a bazillion other little bits and pieces. From there we wound our way across to the M5 and headed to Tile Africa to pick up 8 more boxes of the bathroom wall tiles. I think we have 5 boxes left for collection.

Back to Echo, delivered the tiles and Mike stayed on to work on the electrics.

I came home and booked for the gym.

It was so wonderful to be back in the pool. Virgin Active has offered people the opportunity to delay their gym membership by another two months, so the gym is super quiet and I am in my element going there. I swam 40 lengths….mostly very slowly!

I’ve also gone through more books in our bookshelves.

And I had a lovely chat with my sister, Anne who is making a good recovery. She is so positive and resilient.

It’s been a good day!

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The best is yet to come.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.
