Change in Work Schedule

Friday

Today was the day…

I got a message from the MD of the company I work for asking to speak to me. A funny thing happened three months ago. I dropped her a line asking to speak to her. She immediately came back asking if everything was okay. I said it was. That afternoon we had a meeting and I told her I needed time off for my upcoming jaw surgery. She was so relieved. She thought I was going to tell her I was leaving! So, today when she asks for a meeting, I asked, ‘Do I need to be worried?” “No, not at all,” she said. This afternoon we met for her to tell me that with us going into a quiet season, she’s restructuring my work load and asked how many hours a day I want to work. It has been very quiet and I’ve been struggling to fill 4 hours a day, so we settled on 3. It’s only consultant work, so all the other admin work I’ve been doing for one of the other directors is going to revert back to him until things get busy again. This couldn’t have come at a better time. I can work whatever 3 hours during the day I want. For the rest, I can focus on what needs to be done before we move to the new build.  My income will be down a bit but it will pick up when things get busier which will probably be around November.

Meanwhile back at the build, Mike has been putting all the plugs in and made good progress with that today. This is the view from the kitchen, facing forward…

Along the left wall there are a few windows with this kind of view..

View from my bedroom at the moment…

The builder says he is still aiming for an end of September finish. We can’t imagine it, but we’ll wait and see.

Bed time!

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him.

The best is yet to come.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.
