Wednesday – 3 days til Christmas
Today was the day…
We went to the beach. The day began with an abundance of promise of still weather and sunshine, but not long after I got in the water, mist began to roll in and the sun disappeared completely.
We walked home into a cool black south-easter wind. The shower, pawpaw and cappuccino that followed were all very welcome. I did the laundry and cleaned the lounge. Mike has been painting the wall units in his study. He made those wall units and the writing desk in about 1989. It was time they were touched up.
Tomorrow, our cottage guests leave and the Christmas guests arrive. And there is no Ruth and there is no Memory! There is a Helga though, so as soon as the guests have left, I’ll jump into action. Mike says he will help. We have 3 hours to turn the place around. Next week Memory will be able to come on Tuesday and Friday which is when we need her. After 28th the Little Lookout will be available, but I haven’t opened the calendar for it yet.
This afternoon, I walked down to Fish Hoek to do a little shopping. On the way back, I took this picture of my favourite spot in the sea. I haven’t been out there for a while because the shark nets have been put out later and later, so I’ve when I’m there in the morning, I have to stay in the shallows.
Time for me to wrap up.
Hebrews 13:9
Your strength comes from God’s grace.
The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
