Thursday
Yippee! It’s a long weekend. Although the company I work for will be working tomorrow, things will be so very slow that I am sure to do little or no work.
I read today that cruise ships are going to be banned from docking in Venice. It took me back to just two years ago when Mike and I had the huge privilege of cruising out of Venice. It was one of the most spectacular moments of my life. The ship left just before sunset. To see the Venetian canals from high up a cruise ship was amazing.
Passing St Marks square with thousands of people gathered on the pier to watch the spectacle of a passing ship. We happened to be in a cabin on the right side to see this amazing sight. Never before have I felt so privileged. I wanted to pinch myself.
Passing the islands bathed in the setting sun…
Seeing the sun set…
And heading out to the inky ocean…
I think the thing that made it so very special was that it was so very unexpected. I don’t think we could recreate the awe we felt if we ever did it again and now it seems that won’t be a possibility. It makes the occasion we have had even more memorable.
One thing about going on holiday is you get to keep the memories! So grateful.
Psalm 119:165
Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
