Little Steps

I think sometimes the steps we take need to be very, very little. And, each one has to be appreciated.

When you think about running a marathon – it doesn’t happen in one fell swoop. It’s thousands of little actions of putting one step in front of another.

I saw a little of it this year when Julian has been moving his book business from one location to another. Thousands upon thousands of books had to be moved. Each book taken off a shelf, put in a box and moved, taken out the box and put on the shelf. There was no other way of doing it.

One book at a time.

Going through life is one step at a time.

When I have a major goal to achieve, it can only be a little bit at a time.  A 5 day cricket match gets played one ball at a time. An election gets won one vote at a time. A house gets built one brick at a time.  A book gets read or written one word at a time. A life gets fulfilled, one breath at a time.

And when life gets tough, it’s time to slow down and do the next thing. Bowl the next ball. Write the next word. Walk the next step. Breath the next breath.

Break it all down.

Time passes and suddenly things may get easier. The words flow, the the steps are easier, it’s like riding downhill.

But when it’s tough, just do the next thing.

Time will pass. It will get easier.

Today has been a bit like walking through mud, but I did have a little success.

A small step in the right direction.

I turn away from the difficulties – I look ahead to the successes – I turn from the negativity and I push onto the positive.

That makes me smile.

#87 of 1000 thanks is the small success today – inching forward is all it takes! 🙂

Psalm 37:23

The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him;

One small firm step at a time! 🙂

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
