I Need Rest!

2-40pm

Last night Mike & I went out for our weekly (red meat) meal! I have been only trying to have red meat once a week and that’s when we have a steak! We normally go on a Saturday evening and being a creature of habit, I don’t like upsetting my routine. There is something else for us to attend this evening. At least we get to have another ‘date’ night. Although I enjoyed the meal enough, last night wasn’t as good as a Saturday evening, because today Mike decided to clean the carpet in Granny’s room and I had that idea looming. He decided to take advantage of having hired the industrial carpet cleaner & do the rest of the carpets as well.  I need rest! So I wasn’t relishing the idea. This morning though, he instructed me to stay away while he got on with the job. With it being warm and sunny, the carpets should dry quite quickly.

For me, rest means nothing to do with CCFm and nothing to do with Granny. But instead of reading or sleeping or watching a movie, I got stuck into a presentation I have to do with an advertiser this week. I finished it, but it took pretty much the whole morning. Then Mike & I took the carpet cleaner back to the hire shop and then we walked around the Mall until we got a call from David saying he was going out and Granny was left alone! So we came home!

One thing we did do at the Mall was sort out lunch for us all, so Granny was happy about that. She has been a bit confused, speaking in her broken speech about church and what she should be doing. I resorted to changing the subject and asking if she would like some tea. She replied, ‘Yes! It’s late!’ So tea it was then! What a blessing that she is so easy and compliant. Imagine a dragon of a mother-in-law who always criticizes and complains? I wouldn’t have got this far at all!

I think what I must do next is take her for a wheelchair walk. She’ll enjoy getting out in the sunshine. Maybe I’ll have a nap first and take her out around 4pm.

Sounds like a plan eh?

This is almost true…it’s just forgetting part I’d change…best to forget!

“Go forth today, by the help of God’s Spirit, vowing and declaring that in life—-come poverty, come wealth, in death—come pain or come what may, you are and ever must be the Lord’s. For this is written on your heart, ‘We love Him because He first loved us.’” ~ Charles H. Spurgeon

1 John 4:10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Give me one pure and holy passion
Give me one magnificent obsession
Give me one glorious ambition for my life
To know and follow hard after You.

God bless you loads!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
