Protein vss Carb – Twin Noakes…

3-31pm

It was great fun to have twins Jax and Jeanne on the Rise and Shine show today. They have teamed up with members of the health fraternity to do an ‘in public interest’ dietary experiment. Jax is taking the regular healthy person’s carb-loaded diet including bread, pasta, rice, potatoes and cous-cous etc, while Jeanne is adjusting to absolutely no sugar, very limited carbs eg fruit (limited to only one a day), cream laden cappuccinos (difficult that one!), nuts and plenty of meat and cheesy vegetables! They came onto the Rise and Shine show to tell me about the experiment and their experiences during the 2 weeks they have (so far) been on their different eating plans. This will continue for another 6 weeks. Each week they have blood tests done and a battery of tests will be done half way and at the end as well. To date, Jax is surprised that she has for the first time got a runny nose and is experiencing hayfever. Jeanne is delighted that her allergies seem to have cleared up! It’s going to be an interesting experiment to follow. Here are the lovely ladies themselves…

Just of the record, Jax is on the left and Jeanne is on the right. You can read all about them on their blog:

Wow! The results are already interesting. One of them has lost a kilo and the other has gained 1.4kg!That’s also on the blog!

Today has been a laid back sort of day. We had a great Andy Stanley DVD this morning as he started his ‘Guardrails’ series. Then I came home and skyped with Stacey. I intended to have a nap, but did the dutiful thing and went and paid the phone bill and bought take-aways for Granny & David. Mike & I are going out this evening.

Here are a couple of the photos from yesterday. First Granny with her nicely done hair having tea at Nerina Gardens…

Remember yesterday I said I had got ‘Artisan’s Bread?’ Well, this is it…

And this having fun with it…

🙂

Finally, I saw this on FB and absolutely loved it…

Isaiah 55:10-12 As the rain and the snow  come down from heaven, and do not return to it  without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish,  so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,  so is My word that goes out from My mouth:  It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy  and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills  will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field  will clap their hands.

God bless you and have a wonderful weekend!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
