I Felt Like A Kid This Morning!

2-24pm

I felt like a kid this morning! I did. It all began when, on the way to work at 5am, I stopped at the bus stop  to pick up my regular two passengers. Leonard has been joining me for the drive for a few years now. Tami has only been a passenger for a couple of months. She works at a Tribeca in Kalk Bay and sometimes does the early shift. Yesterday and this morning were one of those days. As  she hopped in the car, she handed me a CHOCOLATE Tribeca croissant. I think it classifies as a croissant, even though it’s rectangular. She told me I must heat it to melt the chunks of chocolate inside!

I got to work so excited about my decadent Friday treat! You would have thought I was starved of delicacies…ha ha ! Hardly, after all the eating out Julian and I do when he comes to Cape Town!  I did the final show prep for today’s Rise and Shine and then set about making a cappuccino and popping the pastry in the microwave…

Then, I sat in my office at about 5-45am and all by myself I ate the whole thing….savouring every morsel! 🙂 Of course, an hour later when I was onair,  with a faint sense of nausea and a fatty bloated feeling in my stomach, I wasn’t quite so elated! But it was so worth it! LOL.  And so began a good Friday! After the show I went to my ladies’ meeting, informal today and early as schools break up for the winter break…

This afternoon, I’ve made pea soup and have done a bit of catching up on emails etc. I hope to do some reading.Last night I started reading this…

Best known as the author of the Daily Devotional, Everyday With Jesus, he wrote his story in 2004 and passed away about 18 months later. Last night I read his introduction and his epilogue. His final words of the book, “There was a time nearly ten years ago when I said I was ready to go but eager to stay. Now, however, things are different. Now I am eager to go, but willing to stay.” He rejoices in eternity.

Mike should be home soon. It’s going to be a restful weekend!

Jeremiah 6:16 “Thus says the LORD:”Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls”.

Have a wonderful weekend!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
