This morning I woke up to find myself in my mid-50s! Mike made coffee and bought me my main family-generated gift….the family clubbed together and bought me this… the one I have keeps bombing out, so this is going to be a huge blessing.
Mid-morning, Mike and I met a micropiling guy at Echo and discussions were had about the possibilities of getting the equipment to the site to get foundations down.
He said it is possible and will do the calculations so we can know how much it’s going to cost. Unless the Lord builds the house, they that build it labour in vain.
I got some work done, punctuated by a wonderful facetime video chat with Stacey and Elsie!! She was not sure who this person was squinting at her on the screen in front of her and smiling and waving and oohing and cooing to make her smile. Hope to go to Swellendam a week on Friday. I also got to speak to my sister who phoned and of course, Julian.
At 1-30pm, David arrived to take me out for lunch. We went to the Foodbarn Deli. He produced this tiny little gift. It was just a small square of wrapping paper. I was so curious. When I opened it, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing…he’s booked for he and I to go on a horse ride on the beach!
When we drove over Chapman’s Peak recently, I saw people riding on the beach and I said, “I really want to do that.” David heard and when he spotted a leaflet advertising it, he inquired and booked for Friday! Very cool gift!
Buy tools, not toys, has been one of our family mottos. But buying memories is another of my favourites. Today I got both!
The day ended with Mike and I going out for very nice intimate dinner. Very cool.
#943 of my 1000 thanks is for 54 great years. TGBTG.
Psalm 119:1
Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
