House Goes Up, Money Goes Out

Thursday

Today was a big step for the building of the house. We bought almost all the flooring for the entire house. We got a 5% discount, which doesn’t sound like a lot but it all adds up. In the end we went really safe for our floor. We’re tiling the same as the two floors below us. Julian is having something different. This is our tile (from the CTM internet picture) Neutral and very nice A grade porcelain. Let’s hope they lay it right and get the right grout colour. It goes nicely with our paint.

I also paid for the ribs for the 3rd level. That’s our level and the biggest so that also was a big expense. We paid the Land surveyor and the builder sent his bill. House goes up, money goes out. Main part is the house is going up. From the patio…

The beam that ties the front to the back, creating the third level..

It’s quite a scramble to get the to top. The view…

Meanwhile the steel is being prepared for the beams…

Mike has taken over his spectacular spreadsheet which is too wonderful. I pay and give him the invoices and he number crunches them. He’s happy with the state of the budget right now. He’s saving money in all sorts of places. Remember he ran the YMCA back in the 1980s and in my eyes got a degree in saving money. It’s paying off now.

I worked for 7.5 hours. I met with the company MD and have plotted my job description for the next 4 months. I’ll be working longer hours than the last few months, which is a blessing.

This weekend I need to do my tax.

It’s been a good day.

Micah 6:8

The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Amen!

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
