Hottest Day of the Year

Saturday

Today was the day…

Temperature soared in the Western Cape. Kapteinskloof was 44C! It must have been one of the hottest places in the province & maybe even the country today. In Cape Town, it was 30+ but up on the mountainside we threw the doors and windows wide open and enjoyed the breeze which went a long way to cool the place down.

It was a busy morning for Mike and I. Guests left just after 10am and more arrived  this afternoon, so we set about cleaning. Then we walked three people through David’s unit, but I’m not sure if any of them will take it. One couple needed a washing machine. The other may be interested but for very short term and the third is the current occupant of the LL. After they all left, it was back to cleaning the cottage which we finally completed around 1pm.

The afternoon we rested! And the evening, we had a super dinner on the balcony.

It’s a very still and balmy evening. One of those rare days where the wind is not howling and it’s full on summer. Tomorrow is forecast to be cooler, but still windless. In the photos above, you can see the massive pods of seaweed heading for the beach. While the wind isn’t blowing, there will be a load of sea weed on the beach.

Psalm 8:4-5

What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You care for him? yet You have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honour.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
