Helga The Free Redhill Taxi

1-29pm

That was my title today! There’s a multi-layer story attached to it. It all began at 5ish when I stepped into my garage in pitch dark, opened the back door of my car to put stuff in it and immediately noticed the cabin light of the car did not come on. Aw-aw! My car battery was FLAT! Something must have been left on or open. David has the jump leads. There was nothing else to be done except wake Mike! 🙁  So poor Mike got up and drove me to CCFm.  We don’t know why these happen, but had a peek into one reason. When we arrived at CCFm, there were three ‘dodgy’ people hanging out on the corner right opposite CCFm. If I had arrived at CCFm alone, I would have been most uncomfortable and insecure. Praise the Lord! First time in 8 1/2 years Mike has had to bring me to work!

The show went well. It was good to have Jason back and things returning to normal. After the show, I noticed a family popping in to visit. I went out to meet them…just look at these beautiful children,

Visitors to CCFm Michelle Maxine Evan and MadisonMaxine, Madison, Michelle and Ethan. Dad Quinton and Mom Fiona bought them over with 5 month old Malachi. They don’t all belong to Quinton and Fiona. A couple of them are cousins. It was great to meet them!

After the show, I got hold of David and he came and collected me and took me home and then using the jump leads we started the car and I went to the Battery place to find out what exactly was wrong. The battery is still fine, it was just flat! I could leave it overnight on charge (not ideal) or I could go for a 45 minute drive! So off I went! I headed off towards Simonstown and turned up the Red Hill Rd. There I came across two ladies needing a lift to Red Hill settlement. No problemo. At the top, I stopped to take a photo of the view and took the opportunity of taking a picture of them as well…

First 2 The View…

Simonstown with Naval Frig

While at the lookout point, another couple on their way to Red Hill passed by, so we called out to them and they jumped in the car. Then there were 5 of us…such a merry party on the way to Red Hill! I dropped off the 2nd two first and then dropped off the first two and made my way down the hill. At the bottom I encountered Khanyise needing a lift to Masi…she gladly accepted the lift from this free taxi and off we went. I smssed her this lovely photo of herself…

Khanyise - bring the LightWhat a fun time I had ‘recharging my battery.’ I arrived home 45 minutes later, job done and 5 people much happier for the ride!

I believe that nothing happens to us without God’s presence,  His permission and His purpose being worked out in our lives. It doesn’t mean that only good happens to us. It also doesn’t mean that God causes bad things to happen to us. Most of the bad things that happen to us are man-induced. People lead us astray.

Jeremiah 23:32 “Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” declares the LORD. “They tell them and lead my people astray with their reckless lies, yet I did not send or appoint them. They do not benefit these people in the least,” declares the LORD.”

But God never takes His eye of us or leaves us without His hand of care…

Deuteronomy 32:9-11 NKJV; “For the LORD’s portion is His people; Jacob is the place of His inheritance.  He found him in a desert land and in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye.”

Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with His feathers,  and under His wings you will find refuge;

Great encouragement.

I’m not sure why my blog is suddenly appearing in italics. Clearly, I pressed a wrong button. Perhaps Stacey can find out! 🙂

God bless you richly!

In His Grip,
