He Did It!

Late last night, close to midnight, our landline phone rang. My heart immediately raced. Who could be calling at this time of night? I jumped out of bed and ran to the phone. I could see it was a cell number so I imagined a wrong number. I picked up the phone and said nothing. Suddenly, there was David’s voice. “Mom!” he said urgently! My heart rate went to an even higher level. Adrenaline rushed into my veins. This can only be bad news. At least it was David speaking. “What’s happened?” I asked, trying to stay calm. “Mom! I’m really sorry to phone this time of night but I had to tell someone! I PASSED MY MASTERS!!!!” He had just heard from his supervisor that only minimal changes were required and once done, returned to her and he could graduate very shortly. This was the very best case scenario!

We were elated.

It took me a couple of hours for my adrenaline levels to normalise. I just could not sleep after that!

#342 of my 1000 thanks is that David passed his Masters degree in music!

This morning the ongoing stream of messages and phone calls from applicants continued. I am so blessed to have this job. How did that happen apart from God opening the door? I feel useful and productive, even in the menial tasks. They all fit into a bigger plan.

I also had my ladies meeting and came home to find David visiting. He also came for dinner and we had a bit of a celebration! In between, Mike and I walked down to the Sun Valley pond….

And so the weekend begins and the month of June ends.

Psalm 29:11

The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
