I have to admit that I came home from Johannesburg this morning with my cup full! We had such a good weekend. It was wonderful seeing Jess and Gerrie get married and it was just as wonderful spending time with all the family. Apart from the wedding, we had some fantastic family time including a visit to the Johannesburg Zoo….this was one of the best displays…tiger on the lookout….what a majestic animal…
The lion on the other hand was less alert…I didn’t see it even twitch!
There was also a few grunting hippos…this one lolled around in the water…
Before deciding he had had enough…and he launched himself out of the pool
and like an overgrown pig, waddled towards his pen…
There were many other animals and birds, including this docile, slightly sleepy, very impressive-beaked pelican…
Also seen at the zoo…
Colossians 1:16
For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him.
That brings a different perspective to why God created us and the huge variety of animals in the world. Through Him and for Him.
Early this morning we flew home. It’s great fun traveling with my family.
I saw something I’ve never seen someone do before. Claire’s bag was missed as it came around on the luggage carousel….David and Claire were on the one side and saw it on the other. To prevent it doing another loop, David jumped right over the conveyor belt, grabbed it from the other side and jumped back. Next time you visit an airport and see how wide they are, you will see how impressive it was!
#135 of my 1000 thanks is that we are home safe and sound. The house was fine. The cat was fine. Stacey and Adrian flew with us and drove 3 hours to their home, arriving just after 12. The weekend was perfect. How grateful I am!
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
