Giving Tuesday – Living Hope

Sometimes I think about the first being last and the last being first. Imagine if our true wealth lay in not how much we had in our bank accounts, but rather how much we had given away.  “You’d better be giving while you’re living because what you hold is turning to mould.” Thanks Andy Stanley. I love that line.

One of the great organisations worth supporting is Living Hope.

Sometime in early 2000, one Sunday morning after church, a chunk of  the congregation drove a short distance away to a large plot of land that was for sale. On the land was an old restaurant building. We all trooped up these stairs …

Stairs…. to the second floor of this building…

Marketing deptIn those days the roof was thatched and it leaked! Pastor John Thomas explained the possibility of buying the land to begin a new work to help the people of the area who were HIV +. In order to go ahead, he wanted the Lord’s guidance and the church’s  advice and support. He got it. The land was bought and since that day, Living Hope, Capri has grown. There’s a health care centre…

#965 of my 1000 thanks is for Living Hope – a blessing to Cape Town and to us as a family when we needed frail care for Mike’s Mom.

And you know that I use my diary to put Bible verses on the blog each day? Here’s today’s:

Philippians 4:19

God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

God never lets us down.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
