Giant Bluebottle

Wednesday

Today was the day…

I got to swim! It was not too windy and was sunny and warm. Mike and I actually got down to the beach a lot earlier than usual, so I managed a 40 minute swim. It was wonderful. The only thing that freaked me out a little was a giant bluebottle. They are usually quite small….

But the one Mike and I encountered in the water was a big one. It looked like this specimen I took on the beach in 2018….

Only it was floating in the water and looked pretty menacing. After seeing it and staying clear of its path, I swam away, keeping my head above the water to watch out for others. I didn’t see any more for which I was grateful. You don’t want to get in the path of an angry bluebottle. Its sting will not be forgotten.

Today I worked most of the morning, did a quick bit of shopping and in the afternoon finished cleaning the cottage ready for tomorrow’s canine guest….

The sunset this evening was spectacular. We enjoyed it from our balcony…

David was on his way back from Hout Bay and captured the moment…

Quite spectacular.

Spring has sprung!

1 John 5:14

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
