Getting Ready for Robben Island

10-23

Today is going to be a glorious day. I’m off on an adventure with my friend Lynette Quimpo. Together we are going to Robben Island! Our Ferry leaves at one, so I’m putting up a quick blog. You’ll get to see all the photos tomorrow. I had an early morning meeting and after that came here…

Breakfast venuefor this…

BreakfastThis will sustain me for the rest of the day. Late this afternoon, I will meet up with Mike after the trip and we will have dinner in town. I have everything I need – sunblock, water, sea sickness pills (!!), jersey, a blanket, hat, sunglasses, cell phone, money and the tickets! Tomorrow, I will tell you what I didn’t have but should have had!

All of us go through tough times sometimes. If that is you, I have some soothing words…

Let Psalm 62 verses 1 & 2 be on your lips today:

“My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Fortress, I will never be shaken.”

What powerful words! Words to meditate upon until they sink deep into your soul, soothing away the stress of negativity, replacing anxiety with peace; taking a haphazard thought process and giving it clear direction. Eyes no longer dart here and there, desperately looking for answers – instead they look up and focus clearly on the One who has the answers. Hands no longer grasp at straws, wildly flailing about hopelessly. No. Arms are raised, palms facing upwards, reaching in praise to the only One in whom we can find peace today. Stress limps away. Internal rest and peace has come. Oh yes! It’s going to be a good day. God is at the centre of it. We’ve been set free by His grace.

God bless you extravagantly!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
