Five Minute Date

This morning I had a five minute date with Mike! We had decided to go to the Fish Hoek Methodist Church 8-30 service and I planned on walking. Looking at the threatening rain clouds, I set off with a warm damp-proof jacket. A bit of rain did blow in but I was well covered. I got half way when Mike arrived to pick me up. He didn’t know I had was protected from the wind and the rain and was concerned I was going to be cold and drenched!

We were very early for church so we went to Fish Hoek beach and admired the place that God bought us all those years ago. We would never have believed that this would be the beach that would be just a few kilometres from home and on which we would raise our family. We spent some minutes reflecting , “Imagine when you were at Bible college just around the corner in Kalk Bay and someone would have come and told you that in how every many years you would be standing here with your wife and have two children, one an engineer and the other having done his Masters in Music”…..Mike shook his head…”No….he could not imagine that he would believe that!

Look what God has done.

That’s the thing about life – about trusting God in the hard times – He sees the future. His is not a future that is without hope. His is a future with good plans. Yes, there may be ups and downs – uncertainty, grief, sadness, but God – He brings beauty from ashes and can make a broken person whole.

We can’t see the future, but God can.

We can’t walk the difficult road, but God can. When we need it, He carries us.

He will see you through.

So!

Don’t

ever

give

up!

Ever!

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

He knows the way. He will take you on it.
