Don’t Wait For The Storm To Pass….

12-39pm

I got back into routine quickly today. I came home after (Rising and Shining) around 11am and did show prep. I actually still need to go down to the mall and get some shopping. Mike is picking his Mom (aka Granny) up at around 3-45pm, so I must have dinner waiting when they get in! 🙂 It’s very quiet around here without her!  I do understand that there is always going to be something for us to worry about.  In the Bible, we read words of Jesus, “In this world you will have trouble…” No one is excluded. So if I don’t have Granny to worry about, there will be something else… even if it is a flock of aggressive starlings that are tormenting me right now by landing en masse on the balcony and stealing grapes! I keep banging the window to shoo them away & then see the extent of the flock… a dozen or more!!  That can hardly be defined as trouble or trials or tribulation. But it goes without saying that that kind of trouble does come. My friend Debbie in the midst of it as she lies in hospital in ICU, slowly being bought out of a coma. She is now breathing on her own and responding to family members to open her eyes. Thank you for praying. The family are waiting for an update from the neurologist.

Jesus doesn’t end it there …He doesn’t leave us pondering gloomily all the problems we will have in this life. Instead, He leaves us with hope.  The whole verse says, : “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Ahh, peace, that’s what we want. We can have it through Jesus Christ. He came to bring us peace, so when we reach out to Him, He gives it to us.

Today is 9 years since my Mom went to heaven.

Ma at my weddingThis is how I love to remember her…head thrown back – roaring with laughter…one of my favourite photos…taken 26 1/2 years ago at my wedding. She is laughing at something Mike said in his speech. I was so young… typical 80s…permed hair and BLUE eye shadow. On the other side of my Mom is Mike’s Dad, who passed away in 1998. Good memories!

And so now, I’m off to enjoy life…shopping…then, maybe, um, SUSHI! Make this day count! Live for today!

Dance in the rainGreat message from ‘Our Autism Family’.
