Don’t Stop Praying!!!

3-18pm

Okay, so here’s the story. As I walked along the beach at Betty’s Bay over the weekend, my mind took me back to the early months of 1985. Mike & I had already met, but didn’t really know each other. I was invited out to Betty’s Bay with some friends (all girls) and I thought it would be great to invite Mike as ‘security’. So I did, but to my disappointment, he declined, apologetically explaining that he had another arrangement that weekend.

So off us girls went to Betty’s Bay. We stayed at the house with the arrow….The house we stayed at…and we had a wonderful weekend, giving each other facials, playing board games and walking on the magnificent beach…

Walking on the eachAnd some of the time, I walked alone and as I walked I prayed. I prayed specifically, all those years ago, for my future husband! I didn’t know who he was, or where he was, but I knew he was! Yes! I knew he existed somewhere, so I prayed for him. And I pondered and I dreamed and I let my mind wander to a place I could only imagine.

Dreaming

Little did I know, that only a year later I would be about to get engaged and that a few months after that, we would spend the first 2 nights of our married life in the very house I was staying at that weekend!  Mike was just around the corner! Over the weekend, as I thought back to that weekend, I was struck by God’s faithfulness. He will never let you down.

Don’t ever give up! You just don’t know what is around the corner!

One of my favourite Bible verses comes to mind:

Romans 12:12 “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer”

The best is yet to come! 🙂

Granny is home from the LCH. She loved it. She knows she is going back there and she seems fine with it. So it’s time to go into getting organised mode…sorting out her clothes and what she’s going to take and what she’s going to leave behind. It’s my plan to visit her Tuesdays and Thursdays.

God bless.

In His Grip,

Helga x 🙂
