Diet Review

4-06pm

I’ve made a slight change to my eating pattern.  Usually, because I go on air at 6am, I eat at 5-30am. Breakfast is consistently berries and great lashings of thick Greek yoghurt, doused with a healthy dash of cream. Raw nuts top it off. It’s like having dessert for breakfast, so I have no trouble cleaning the bowl. But this week, (okay, only yesterday and today), I exercised some self- control and only ate half. It’s filling, so half was fine. Then I made myself a creamy cup of (Starbucks) coffee and that was perfectly enough to see me through to after the show. I had the remainder at about 9-15am. That sets me up  to work through the rest of the morning until 1pm. By then I’m home and have a handful of nuts and a frothy, creamy, yummy, mega home made cappuccino. Completely satisfied, next meal is dinner.  We will see how this goes for this week and see if, over time I can’t shift a few stubborn kilos. The other thing that is in the pipeline is a “personal trainer!” Once Granny is safely ensconced in LCH, I’m partnering with Riana twice a week under the serious, stern, strict training (torture!) of Mel. No weight loss guaranteed, but certainly core strengthening will result!

Today I had an appointment with Peppi. When I arrived, her friend Venise was just leaving (that’s not a spelling mistake – V is right!). V listens to me on the radio and it was great to meet this lovely lady… here is the photo….Michele, (Peppi’s friend) I hope you approve of this photo!

Venise and PeppiPeppi’s had the tree trimmed outside her door…now check the view…

Peppis viewCool, overcast day in Cape Town…perfect! Nice visit from Riana this afternoon as well. 🙂

News coverage today was dominated by the bail hearing of Oscar Pistorius. All that has been heard in court casts a different reflection on what the media have been saying up until this point. He had already been tried by the press, but now things look a little different. Maybe this was a complete accident. Pray for Reeva’s family, who down in PE were saying their final goodbye to her. The whole thing is very sad and tragic.

But it’s not about now. Eternity is very, very long.

The words of Jesus recorded in John 16:33 “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Take heart. God is in control.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
