Don’t Judge

The other day I had a lesson that reminded me not to judge! I was waiting at the entrance to Fish Hoek beach – I was there to pick someone up and they were a little late. The railway booms closed and a train came rumbling past. Only it didn’t pass. It stopped right before the entrance to the beach, just before the booms….I took a picture…

No sooner had it stopped, a car on the beach side, brazenly drove round the booms and exited the beach front. I was speechless. My mouth fell open and I shook my head. “What the heck? Do you know how dangerous that is?” The driver must have seen my very negative body language, but completely ignored me and drove right on by.  The train stayed there – and the booms remained down, preventing the cars from passing.

Then suddenly the train driver appeared on the Fish Hoek side of the train and waved the City Golf through and when other cars arrived, he did the same.

I suddenly realised that when that first car had driven through, she had done so because the train driver had said she could. I couldn’t see him because he was the other side of the train.

When we are faced with a situation it is so easy to draw wrong conclusions because we don’t know all the facts.

It was a good lesson for me.

Matthew 7:1

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.”

I won’t forget that in a hurry.

So today has been a lovely day. I’ve had a lot of email to get through and have been able to do a few hours work, but have also had breakfast out with the family. They are coming round soon for a late lunch before Julian heads off to the airport. We will also fit in a round or two of 30 seconds. I’m so useless at this game (It should be 60 seconds for over 50s!), but it is fantastic brain gym!

I hear David has arrived, so let me go and join them.

#279 of my 1000 thanks is for great sleep!  I’ve got my caffeine intake down to 1 morning cup a day – so the palpitations have gone and I’m sleeping like a baby! Happy dance!

These are the days!

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
